Well, I've got to take care of my GPA first. Mine's right now is a 2.975. All I got to do is make one A, but I want to have a little higher GPA, because I'm going to grad school. The good news with that is that, my junior and senior years GPA is 3.14. It's the math that killed my overall GPA. Also, I had a rough semester last spring, with the deah of my great-grandfather and my severe illness. So, my grades dropped below a 3.0.
My junior and senior GPA is good enough for many of the schools. The bad news is that my overall GPA is not there yet. So as long as I do fine in my classes, I'll should be fine to get into grad school, pending GRE scores. I won't go to grad school until Fall 2007 (money issues).
Now, as soon as I settle with everyting else, which may take some months, I'll begin my AI process. However, I have e-mailed a couple of the sororities about AI. Sorry to say this , but one of the sororites said that even though they take women that are not in college, non-members can't do AI.
As far as ADPi is concerned, if I don't get in by then, I'll consider them. (I'm 23. )

I'm way confused... you GUESS you'll consider ADPi? AI is an honor, not something you settle for. Focus more on your classes. Again, Greek Life isn't for everyone. Some people just can't take a hint...

I will always have ADPi on my list. I never said that I GUESS.

I remember a poster here who pursued AI quite fervently (some would say maniacally) with ADPi. McGee or something like that. She PM'd me quite a bit. It was very odd.

When did we come into the picture?
No offense or anything it sound like we are your second choice. I personally would never sponser anyone who sees my sorority as their second choice. Sorry.

AI is NOTHING like Panhellenic rush with it's rounds, invites, rankings, and second choices. AI is NOT MUTUAL SELECTION. You could pursue a sorority for YEARS and not get initiated into it. While you're talking "second choices", you may not EVER get into the org you say is your first (which I'm assuming from your other post is Alpha Phi). In your best interest, you should watch what you say. There are many alumnae women who post here in BOTH orgs. They are very well connected and know lots of other alumnae, some may be in your area.
Your haphazard "pursuit" of AI and lack of discretion and tact is laughable. It's easy to see that you're treating the AI process (something NOT taken lightly by the many orgs that do it) as a "quick fix" for your unsuccessful college recruitments. You are not prepared for the difficulty of the process at all.

Roller Girl- I'm very confused also. If you don't get "in" to where- to ADPi? Were you persuing ADPi in your previous formal and informal recruitments? And when is the "then" you're referring to?
Also, from reading other posts on Greek Chat, you should know by now that ADPi does not encourage random Potential AI. It is something a current member in good standing needs to invite you to do and it is still relatively rare with our organization. As much as I would like it to become more frequent, we are still working on getting the word out.

Is there a school in the area that has a course in Discretion 101? Or maybe the remedial Discretion 001?

And just in case you're wondering, just because there are alot of Alpha Phi AI's on this site, does NOT BY ANY MEANS make them "easier" to get into.
And what do you mean "if you don't get in by then"? There are alot of GCers whom if they had put a timeline on their pursuit of an org, wouldn't be members right now.

Oh thank you SO much for saying this.
This is relevant for EVERY situation where a person goes through recruitment numerous times (collegiate or AI). It may sound harsh, but it is a question that we ask ourselves.

It's because she's black! SHE BLACK! She's an absolutely wonderful, tactful, and very discreet young woman! But these sororities still won't take her.
Girl, you better try AKA or something next! They'll be glad to have you!
