My search for a home begins now!
Well, I beginning to find a home for me. Now, I have found a sorority that I have liked and I have contacted the corrdinator. She told me that I have to find an alumnae to write a recommendation. But to make things fair, I will hold off until January (after graduation) to find an alumnae to write a recommendation for me.

Best of luck to you on your AI journey!! :)

Can you start doing AI while you're still in school? I thought you had to be out of school for a few years to be eligible?
|
If a person is in Undergraduate School, They cannot Even attempt to Try AI!
So, Rollergirl2001, are You an Undergraduate or a Graduate? There is a big difference isnt there?:( Maybe if you were more truthful then GCers would be much more helpful.:) |
You have to be out of school to be eligible for Alumna Initiation (hence the name "alumna".)
|
To be fair, Rollergirl DID say that she's going to wait untl January, after she graduates to start...
Not every GLO requires you to be out of school for a few years before starting the AI process. I graduated May 2002, and started contacting GLOs that September. |
It probably depends on the sorority and what their AI rules are.
For us an PNAM has to: Never been initiated into a NPC, NPHC or NIC Attended college (no requirement to have graduated) or work experience 25 years of age, minimum No longer enrolled as an undergrad. So for ADPi as long as she is 25+ when she graduates, it's all good. Good luck Rollegirl2001. I hope your AI search is successful!!!!! |
Didn't you just rush a few times, or am I mistaking you for someone else?

RollerGirl's recruitment thread
Also, do you remember about a year ago (or so) the thread about not being white but wanting to join a white sorority? (this one -- but someone corrected the title :)) -- that was her. Also, there's this thread that got closed/edited LOTS of times. There are other infamous threads. Do a search by her user name. *** I'm not ragging on RollerGirl, just showing why people recognize her screen name. |
Hi, Rollergirl. Waiting until after graduation is CERTAINLY the way to go. I don't blame you for inquiring a bit early though. The prospect of finally finding a home is quite exciting.
Just keep in mind all of the transitions that you are going to be going through as a new graduate (assuming I am understanding your post properly). You may want to settle into your new role as "college grad" before committing to more! Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. LM |

I'm going to throw this out there because I know some of y'all might be thinking the same thing -- but there's something that's screaming SHADY!!! about this situation, and I'm really crossing my fingers that MY sorority is NOT involved. |
I sincerely apologize for making post that are over the line and offending anyone. I guess I need to watch what I go.
