ooooooooh.....give me a British man ANYday.....love their accent, it's just....tingle-envoking.
not too fond of redneck, but i'm ok with Southern....being a Southerner, i feel i have to like it, but only in moderation. Northern accent, not so much at all, though. don't dig Aussie, but i do like French accents (i know, right?)....Scottish is cool.........
really, when it comes down to it, as long as ya don't sound like you're from Eastern Ky, i'm okay with it.
to differentiate btwn "Southern" and "redneck" one must:
-NOT say "ternader" in place of "tornado"
-it is "light" NOT "lit" (note: to say "lIIIIIIght" is ok.....just be aware of it)
-one "washes" their clothes, NOT "warshes"
-this sentence reads, "hey, donna jo! will you turn the light on before the tornado comes so i can wash my clothes, please?" therefore do not say it like, "HEY! donna jo! how 'bout you hit that lit over yonder 'fore that therrr ternader comes so i can warsh these here duds"

Sometimes, yes...but I think some accents become grating after a while.

being that i'm from MIAMI,
the CAPITAL of non-native english speakers
(and being HISPANIC myself-
my parents are Cuban,
but i was born and raised in Miami)...
i am surrounded by the "Hispanic" accent,
now, what i meant by hispanic accent is the accent produced by non-native english speakers which are of hispanic origin (my parents, Penelope Cruz, or Antonio Banderas for example).
I guess since i live in the mecca of Hispanic accents, they don't appeal to me, as much as a Southern or British accent would since they are "foreign" to me.
Hope that clears things up...
EDITTED TO ADD:
I never meant that the Spanish language itself was unappealing to me... i just dont like the way non- native english speakers (who happen to be of hispanic background) sound when they speak english.
BUT i love the way they sound when they speak PROPER spanish like Spainards & Venezuelans.

I am a sucker for accents. I confess! Southern accents really don't do much for me, though certain ones are nice. British accents (the posh type, not Cockney) make me tingle. Scottish accents are pretty cool. But the accent that really throws a punch to my nether regions is a German accent. Now that I'm working for a German company and I'd say over half the office is German, I'm absolutely loving it. There's a guy a couple desks over from me that absolutely mesmerizes me. I don't even have to look at him (he's a cutie!) as long as I'm hearing him. </guilty pleasures at work>

Irish accents are dead sexy. I'll take that one over anything else. I think German accents are pretty nice, too. (Which is nice b/c I'm in Germany.) I've heard from a lot of Germans that they like American accents.

I love all accents, they are DAMN SEXY!!!!
my favorites are: Scottish, Irish, Aussie and Kiwi (NZ), I think the british accent is a little played for me, but on the right man....watch out.
Of course there was this cute little russian boy one day that I was go glad I was sitting down, that accent almost had me down on the floor. I think that is the day that I learned self-control.
of course since I'm listening to sean paul right now, jamaican accents are getting to me too.

Hey we all have accents its just that you dont hear your own, and you only notice someone elses becuz they are pronuncing things diffirent than you would. When I vistit other places outside of california everyone always looks at me wierd becuz i sound diffirent to them, they hear my cali accent and know im not native to where ever i may be at the time.

This thread made me smile when I saw it, because today at work (I'm a 411 operator), a guy called with some sort of UK accent (British, Scottish, Irish, Welsh--don't know which one). I'm not supposed to stay on the line with customers after I've found what they're looking for, but I found myself kind of bending this rule just to keep him talking in that super-cute accent!
I'm not a huge fan of Southern accents, either--probably because I've lived in the middle of Hickville all my life. Besides the British/Scottish/Irish/Welsh accents, I also like NZ, Aussie, German, and most English-speaking Caribbean accents, like Jamaican and Bahamian (sp?).

Aussie accents are sexy.
I really don't notice the southern accent because I've lived in a rural small southern town all of my life but I definitely can NOT stand the redneck southern accent. I mean come on people, you've heard these words all of your life and that extra 'r' does not belong there
