This is turning into a pretty serious discussion when somebody came on here just to ask about decorations.
And let's be honest, these are probably just decorations that we're talking about here. Banners, stuffed animals, etc. Stuff to look at while the girls are between parties, according to the OP. The girls, who will be exhausted with the whirlwind that is recruitment, probably won't remember much about them except that they were tired, nervous, and that their feet hurt while they were looking around at them. I understand that if this was someone's weeklong recruitment theme, including a skit, it could be a cause for concern however for decorations in a lodge I think that it is just fine, cute even, considering how little the girls will remember these things after recruitment is over.

It's what I still think, 3 pages into the thread.
I don't know if anyone wants me on the porch or not, but as the father of a daughter, I don't think I'd be favorably impressed with the image presented by a Victoria's Secret theme.

Exactly - no one is telling the sororities they have to walk around in garter belts. One of our chapters that is definitely on the conservative side just did a VS theme for rush, so I'm guessing they don't really think of VS as an "underwear store."
We had Late Night with ASA as a skit...OMG...I don't how they let that one go. First off, we're obviously subliminally telling them they have to hang out with Sigma Chis. Not to mention we're advocating staying up late and not getting your sleep, possibly throwing watermelons off buildings, and general snarkiness.
Did anyone posting the creeds and wringing their hands actually LOOK at the pictures of what a Pink store looks like? Not to mention that Pink has a line of college shirts? Honestly, it's more sweats and tank tops than it is underpants. I think I'd be more upset by an American Apparel or Wal-Mart theme due to the well-known shady business practices of those particular companies.

Always room for a disgruntled father, and we'll probably fuss over you, so be sure to bring Mrs. MC.

If this helps.
This is PINK branding:
Presuming they're not going to be showing underwear, it's mostly Pink, Silver and blingy.
This is Victoria Secret branding:

Just a weeee bit different.

Passing you a lemonade...I'd make it a Guinness, but it's still morning here under the Carolina blue.

LOL. I agree. I hate that college women started doing that years ago. I don't think the sorority women in this thread were suggesting butt prints, though.
I also hate hate hate VS's PINK line.

LOL, no I know they weren't. But it did bring to mind the times I've seen women with their Greek letters across their butts -- and the discussions that have been had here about it.

Overall, I think it's a cute idea. Pink is branded a lot differently than the other VS brands like Angels or Very Sexy or Body by Victoria, and I think many young women realize that. It's more focused on "cute" apparel (including TONS of sweats, tops, dresses, accessories, not just bras and underwear) with fun prints, bright colors. It's not really what one would consider "sexy lingerie". (I worked there and heard a LOT about the differences in branding among the different lines and how we should be promoting them during training and meetings, lol)
Having said that, I do see why people have a problem with it. People here Victoria's Secret and think SEX.
Although I think it's a cute idea, I'll agree with some others and say that my only issue is that it looks like it favors one group over others. But going along the same lines as psusue, I doubt PNMs are going to read into it that much.
ETA: I just remembered that I saw my friend's Pi Beta Phi chapter do a VS theme for Bid Day once, and it worked really well because they played off the whole angels thing.
I obviously don't know all the details because I wasn't there, but from the pictures it looked like they used a lot of pink decorations and theme shirts. The actives wore pink shirts that said "Pi Phi" in the same writing as the original Pink perfume (not the block letters but this, but the ones that look like handwriting) and the Bid Day shirt basically looked like the print on the credit card. They were pink with "Pi Beta Phi" written over a bunch of times in the background then "Angels" really big in script over it (like this: http://tinyurl.com/296hc5v). I thought it was done really well!
ETAA: I just realized that this is where my username comes from LOL I wanted something different, something that's not linked to me anywhere else when I registered for GC, and this was the best I could come up with.

Okay, I'll admit it: Until this thread, I didn't know Victoria's Secret had different "brands." To me (obviously not in the target demographic of a recruitment theme), Victoria's Secret = Victoria's Secret= fraternity man's fantasy.
And just shut up now, Drolefille, 'cause I know you want to say something about it.

Yup! Don't worry, I don't think a lot of people realize it, regardless of gender.
Body by Victoria = basic underwear
Angels = "classic lingerie"...lots of lace and pastels
Very Sexy = the "sexier" stuff...animal prints, reds, lace, see-through stuff
PINK = younger, cuter, focuses on the clothes, not just underwear
Sexy Little Things = kind of a cross between PINK and Very Sexy
Those are the main ones...there's a few smaller ones like Pout and ones that I can't think of the names of, but those are mainly sold in catalog only.

You can't make me
I did actually figure that out based on your post and that's why I posted the pics. I purposefully did not comment on typical parent attitude of "Male fantasy WHOOO but NOT MY DAUGHTER NUH UH" >.>

Quick, someone think of a young, cute, not overtly sexy model so I can make a comparison between Tyra/Heidi and her!
