As long as Blair doesn't snap Thabeet like a toothpick, I like UConn's chances. Of course, it would help if Blair would get into foul trouble in the first half...

Thats what I'm saying... I don't think that the F-22 is anywhere near our best plane anymore. I have a feeling that a lot of those "UFO" sightings are really US aircraft just like the U-2 spy plane was responsible for a lot of the reported sightings in the 1950s.

For anyone interested, here's a breakout of global military strength: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...f_armed_forces
Suffice to say that a battle between US vs China AND Russia would not be good. Troop levels really wouldn't matter much, because it would be an air and sea battle. We are helped by the fact that apparently China and Russia don't have aircraft carriers, and we have more nuclear subs, but unfortunately Russia still has way more nukes than we do. I would expect that we would quickly bomb the Chinese factories to smitherines, and that the war would soon turn into one between just Russia and the good ole USA, save for some Chinese subs.

I agree... The leadership in China and Russia cannot be THAT stupid to think a first strike is an effective move militarily... I could believe that with a rogue, terror country, like the folks that make Yellow Cakes, but for China and Russia? Why fight with the US? We don't have the land like they do. And they are unable to exploit their materials effectively like we did after WWII. So, oh well. And Russia will fall in the same trap that Hitler did in WWII when he tried to take that part of Eastern Europe with the oil... I think that is Ukraine? (IDK?). And China is decimating countries in Africa right now from Nigeria to the blood diamonds in the Congo to Angola. They have got that problem now and will face what happened in Uganda with Idi Amin when he kicked out all the Indians--a cautionary tale... So, there is more to this than procurement of major natural resources...
ETA: I really think many "sovereign" countries are closely watching the US. They want to see our energy designs because we do have a track record for advancement. Most of our record is positive. I do think Mr. T. Boone Pickens has a decent opportunity and green design/living is a viable option for homes. And while our transportation mechanisms will be shaky for awhile, I think something will happen, not sure if it is a new development, an advancement in science, etc., that will come out and be used for a millennium, soon... Mother necessity where would we be...
