What is Greek life like in your part of the state? I know Greeks aren't as popular in CA as in other parts of the country. Do you feel that way, too?

I was a California Greek. Greek Life where I went to school (CSU East Bay) wasn't very big. There were 2 NPCs and 2 NIC fraternities. We also had several locals, as well as Alpha Phi Omega.
If you compare California to a place like Georgia then, no Greek Life isn't as popular. but I think that Greeks have a big presence in California.

I was greek at a California school with a very popular fraternity/sorority system. There are plenty of greeks in California, but it isn't the end all/be all like it sounds to be in the south.

Yes, it is a POV issue.
For me , "Kappa" has always been short for KKG's.
As for OP's question, she might wish to post in the KKG's section to start.
And I always thought that the Greek systems in CA were OK if not good.
Do not know anything first hand however.

I too am a California Greek. In my day, there were 10 sororities on campus, they were all National Panhellenic, there were no locals, multi-nationals or any other councils. There were also 12 fraternities at the time, they were all IFC.

The OP is a troll. He appeared under the name of Sedrick, then Allona and now Lemon Fresh. He always posts in the wrong section and makes rediculous statements. Also, don't expect that he will read what is going on in a post. He pulls things out of his a$$.
Merry Christmas

Benzgirl;
Did I miss or am I missing something?
I do agree with you on Sedrick, Allona, Lemon Fresh and perhaps even Jolly Green Giant.

Oops sorry. You are right though, Kappa Kappa Gamma = Kappa.

UCSB has plenty of sororities, but two dozen would make it the largest sorority system in the country, which it's not.

Obviously not all of those are NPC or IFC.

I'm a California greek. Sonoma state has 4 npc, 1 local sorority, 3 multicultural sororities, 3 IFC fraternities, 1 local fraternity and 2 multicultural.
Greek life is definitely not as big there as it is at other places. But it's definitely growing. NPC chapters use to be at about 50 or so a few years ago and are full at 80 now.
