Yeah, that would be a different story - I wouldn't mind showing up alone, as long as I knew people who would be there.

I used to go to the bar alone because I knew there would always be people there that I knew...now not so much.

I don't like shopping for clothes by myself either. I prefer to have a girl with me basically to do the shopping for me and I just pay for it.

There's a concert I just have to go to in February, but no one wants to go...so I'm flying solo. I'm actually looking forward to going alone, it doesn't bother me.

I HATE to shop with other people. I don't like to waste time in a mall. I usually know what stores to hit up and when other people tag along, I have to compromise...

I went to several movies alone --usually on a weekday afternoon.

I don't sit in restaurants alone. Never have. Hopefully, never will.

FWIW, a friend of mine once said something that became my mantra years ago, especially when it comes to doing something alone v. something with others: If you go somewhere and you don't have a good time, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

No matter where you are, or who you are with (or not), you need to be comfortable enough with yourself to handle it.

restuarants- I prefer going with company but just recently I've been going by myself. If I'm hungry and want food, then I'm just gonna eat. If these servers wanna feel sorry for me because I'm eating along. Fine. Doesn't bother me.

movie- I really don't care either way. I constantly see movies by myself. I mean you can't really hold a in depth conversation during the movie, only afterwords. If there is a movie I wanna see (and I have the time to see it) then I'm gonna go, even if it's by myself.

game- Definately something I don't do alone. I go with other people if there isn't someone to go with then I don't go. Games are fun with other people so that you can talk to someone about the game (especially in football and when bad calls are made).

church- If I actually went to church (all the churches around where I live are Catholic or Baptist, and I don't practice either of those religions) I would not hesitate going by myself. Did it all through high school and most of college.

shopping- It depends, if I'm just window shopping and I want to just hang out with someone (whether its a friend or my mom), then I obviously want someone there. But I do most of my shopping alone, then I can get done what I need too quickly.

concerts- definately something I don't do alone.

I won't go to the movies alone, if that's the case I rather just download it.

I don't have a problem doing is going out to eat alone, but that depends on where I'm going. Same thing for shopping, if I know what I want I rather go alone but if I'm looking just to kill some time or not sure what I want, I like to go with at least one other person.

Shopping - alone...I don't like going with dilly-dally'ers.

To restaurants - with someone, unless it's a quick pit stop while shopping and you can eat at a counter or something. I'd feel self-conscious eating at a table.

To the show - with someone

To games - with someone

To church - I don't attend church.

To parties - I like to go with a friend or friends, but not the kind that need to be babysat. Self-reliance is a good trait that they should have.

I like going places alone. Especially out to eat and movies for some reason. I just like doing things alone. I like to check out really nice and different restaurants, I take a good book as for a decent out of the way table in the last cut zone and enjoy. I will spread my mealtime out...have apps, salad, entree, drinks, dessert. And I tip well so I never get bad service...lol

I like doing outdoor activities like amusement parks, zoos with friends. But I still like going to a park to read alone, or sit by the pool alone. I thoroughly enjoy my own company.

I have no problem doing any of those things alone.

I usually shop alone or with my husband (he gives great advice). I go to religious services alone occasionally, if I want to go and my husband is sick or out of town, but we usually go together or not at all. When I've gone to shows, games, or concerts, I've always gone with a group, but I'd have no problem going alone.

As for eating alone - a few years ago, I had a job where I was on weekly travel. If I'd had any problem eating alone, I'd have been very hungry. Sometimes I went out with my coworkers, sometimes I got take-out and brought it back to my desk or my hotel room, and sometimes I just grabbed a book and went to a restaurant by myself. I generally don't go to bars alone, though, unless I'm going to a bar in a hotel for a quiet drink.
