I saw Rumor Has It and The Family Stone.
The Family Stone was awesome -- more bittersweet than I expected (I was thinking it would be a bit more lighthearted), but still very, very good.
Rumor Has It wasn't one of my favorites. Jennifer Aniston and Shirley MacLaine were great, but it seemed like something was just missing in the storyline. I wish we'd seen more of Shirley than we did. She didn't have as many scenes as I'd anticipated.
And, this wasn't in the theaters, but I finally saw Wedding Crashers a couple of nights ago. Funny!!!

Haven't seen anything in the theaters lately but managed to see four movies on the flights to and from London.
-Wedding Crashers
-40-year-old Virgin
-In Her Shoes
-Wallace & Gromit
After seeing the stage production of The Producers while we were there, I'm interested in seeing the movie.

Oh, I dunno -- I think Vivian Leigh did okay as Scarlett.
I liked "Memoirs of a Geisha." I had the opportunity to attend one of the premiers of the movie & enjoyed hearing the comments of the author & director.

I LOVED Vivian Leigh in GWTW. The first time I saw it I thought she was absolutely the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. A neighbor of mine, a native Georgian, swears up and down that her accent isn't right, though!
I was really thinking more along the lines of Jennifer Lopez playing an Italian-American in "The Wedding Planner" or, my personal favorite, Egyptian Yul Brenner as the King of Siam in The King and I!

I didn't know Yul Brenner was Egyptian! Hmmm...you learn something new everyday.
Chow Yun Fat is Chinese isn't he? Cause he played the King of Siam in Anna and the King (the remake of the King and I). And, they had Jody Foster playing Anna.

You know, that's one of those things I thought I knew but never verified! A quick google search has informed me that he's actually Russian. So, I have egg on my face. Well, kind of; he's definitely not from Thailand!

When my mother was a child, her family kept saying that, if she had been older, she would have been the perfect Scarlett. Her hair was blue-black at the time, she has green eyes, and generally looks like you imagine Scarlett (if you were lucky enough to read the book prior to seeing the movie).
I'm just real glad she doesn't have Scarlett's "Mr. Hyde" personality!!
