What exactly do they do? I im'd it with "hi" to see if it responded back, and nothing.

Don't know - I didn't even try IMing them, I just deleted them. As someone else in the thread stated, I received an IM telling me that I had deleted them.

The shopping one I guess will find deals on the internet for you, and the moviefone one will tell you when certain moviees are playing in your area. I might have actually used the moviefone one but I deleted it just on principle.

I was thinking the same thing - I check movie times online a lot, but it annoyed me that they just stuck that bot in my buddy list.

i actually turned it on the other night and noticed that. i need to delate them, but while i used my program i paid no attention to them. but yeah what the heck.

This morning I no longer had the "away page" link in any of my buddies' profiles. Maybe there was a revolt.
