I would not suggest dumping your boyfriend either. All he needs is to be enlightened that his preconceived notions stereotypes of what sorority women are like are not the reality.

This is a dumb unanswerable question and your boyfriend is dumb for forming an opinion solely based on television. And it is an issue that has been covered soooooo many times. Well that is all.

Xgirl, I was very sick the week before school started and the same week I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out. Just a lot to deal with, so I am thinking about rush next semester instead. Anyways, can you tell me what's the best way to talk to the girls in the sorority? I would like to get to know them better, but I think they are busy initiating and it would be awkward to just show up out of nowhere. Can I just knock on their door and start talking? Anyways, thanks for asking!

How would you react if someone you never met in your life just showed up at your door and said "hello, I want to be your friend!"

That's what I thought.

Scope out your classes in the coming weeks for people wearing letters, etc. Just strike up a conversation with them like you would anyone else in your class. Don't have the first thing that comes out of your mouth be questions about the sorority or they are going to feel like you are just using them to get in.

Also, support Greek events (if someone has a teeter-totter-thon, for example) and keep your eyes peeled for notice of open bid parties. You can go to these and you are not obligated to anything, but you get a chance to check the sorority out.

Hey Ninja Bunny,
Hope you're feeling better.

Anyway, 33Girl has the right idea. If I remember correctly, Cal is a semi-Anti-greek campus and not alot of people wear letters on campus. Since I'm not on the CAL campus I don't know where the greeks hang out except their houses, but look for fliers around campus (Sproul plaza is good)announcing events and check the Daily Californian(campus paper)also. You might also want to contact the Greek affairs office on campus. I quite certain they post announcements and related things there.

I'm glad you're going to wait. As I said before CAL is crazy enough and I'm sure you've already figured that out! Just wait until the Big Game! Stanford Sucks! Go Bears!

X Girl
