Cool

Well I am a Junior Elementary Education major. I love working with kids because they are real. Plus with those big companies you can get laid off without motice. At least with teaching you can get tenure. I love the flexible schedule of teaching. SUMMERS OFF. Perfect to me. I love being able to do my own thing. I can creative my own lessons and if I want to change something it is on me to do something. As long as the kids are doing well on their standardized tests my boss will not bother me none.

I wouldn't say I am a supa-dupa SF. B/c we are all great in our own special ways. As for where are the dancers, etc...
I have been dancing since the age of four, and I am quite good truth be told. But I know that dance will not do it for me alone. I am a Political Science and Mass Communications with a concentration is Print major. I plan to go to law school with and emphasis on Corporate Law. With my mass comm degree I plan to write my way through Law School. I am the sport's editor for my school's paper and I love analysing political dealings. I hope to secure an internship with the legal staff of Microsoft, I have already completed one with my town's newspaper.
With all my money I know I will make one day, I hope to open the "Starz Dance Company", this company will have it's own academy, with an emphasis on classical ballet, and comtemporary dance techniques. This studio will be for children who are talented and who would normally not have the opportunity to be artistically challenged on an elite level. I know this was long but, I had a lot to say.

BrotherFriend checking in.....

Well I am aspiring musician/recording artist. I dont want to work for a Fortune 500...nor do I necessarily want to own one..but my ultimate dream is to own a company that controls all the aspects of music for my company..let me explain

I want to own:

1.the record label that makes the music

2.the distribution company the mass produces the music

3. The radio station that plays the music

4. the record store that sells the music

Even if I did this on a local level I would be satisfied.

that's going to take a lot of money...unless you learn to "you know what" rig some things...so i wish you the best...you may want to pick up "this business of music"...i forget who the authors are but it covers everything from copyrights to international deals and i think it is a definite must have so that you get a good grasp of the business side as well as the artist side so that you are proficient in both...

come visit me...

No, You're not alone!! I feel like as long as you are going to school and pursuing the career that will make you happy (inside and out), it doesn't matter if you eventually work in Corporate America or for a Non-Profit Org.--as long as you remember to help others.

A great person (I forgot who it was, LOL), said that "most of us will never do great things but we can all do small things in a great way". I live by that.

BTW, Poplife, amy I e-mail you?

No corporate America for me. I'll be having none of that. Nothing against anyone who takes that route, I just can't be proud of making some 60-somethings year old rich white dudes company prosper. I am studying psychology and plan on going to medical school to become a psychiatrist. I want to own a private practice. I've wanted to act since I was about 3 years old, which I currently do. Depending on what I want to do more after undergrad, I may go to Cali to pursue acting as a career. Right now it's a side thing. I've studied theatre since 1992. That's my biggest love. Sad but true, people get tired of your face after a while so I'll be able to practice psychiatry long after people decide they've had enough of me.

I graduated two years ago, and have done the corporate thing since then. I HATE it. This sister is going to teach!!!!!! It sounds like such a cliche, but I don't feel that I'm contributing anything to the world by sitting in an office at a computer all day. I think it depends on the individual, but I don't find it personally satisfying.
