Alpha Epsilon Pi is the only NIC org there.

There are BGLO and LGLO city-wide chapters there.
What's the deal with AEPi at Georgetown? Their chapter website is served off of a Georgetown web server, but I thought that the school bans NIC/NPC/NPHC.

Well, SAXA is a student-run server. There are other non-recognized organizations with web space on SAXA.

Thanks for that explanation. Is it safe to assume that the Georgetown administration is not going to perform a Williams College style witchhunt for GLOs?

Also, functionally, AEPi serves a different role than other NIC houses - specially at a Jesuit school.

Well.....I personally doubt it. For one thing, there is very little interest in Greek life at Georgetown, and a good number of students claim that they "prefer" the lack of a formalized Greek system there. Since there is little interest and no true "underground" activity, there is little reason for the university to be concerned.

I think that most people feel that there is a fair compromise going on. Those organizations that CAN colonize without recognition of the school do so without major problems. The school does nothing to supress them, but also does nothing to support them.

The only bad part about that is without university oversight, the potential for hazing and other risk-management issues is probably increased.

Ditto. Fordham is in both. It happens all the time. Temple is in the A-10 for basketball but the Big East for football. Villanova is in the Big East for basketball and the A-10 for football.
