There's another browser called Opera that can block Popups. It also has a few other excellent privacy features available.

Yesterday I felt the same way! I was ready to toss my computer...then I noticed that my Norton Antivirus had expired. So, I renewed it, but I renewed it with a different package "Norton Internet Security." This contains the antivirus software and it blocks pop-ups and notifies you whenever someone tries to access your computer's information. It's pretty good, a little pricey. But if you have Norton already on your computer, you can upgrade for $30 or so. I have no complaints with it, yet

Good luck with everything.

The new Google Toolbar beta has a built-in popup blocker: http://toolbar.google.com/index-beta.php

I'm crazy about POW! The reason the eliminator is not automatic is because there are some windows that would be closed, even if they're not pop-up ads. For example, when I sign onto any secure space on my college website, a status window pops up to tell me how much time I have been logged on. On some of the other pop-up killers, that window would be closed.

I have to use AdAware AND POW! But not for long, I'm getting a Mac.

Yes, you have to manually add the pop-ups when using POW, but once they are in POW's memory the ad will never pop up again. It may not seem very effective, but after a week or so you will barely ever get pop ups. I've had POW for almost a year now, and I can't even remember the last time I had a pop-up.

I repeat:

Go to panicware.com and download the free pop up stopper!!! Once it's installed, you forget it's there and the pop ups become no more
