I sold quite a few of them last summer, and I find making them so much fun, but they are time consuming (2+ hours per album) and expensive to make. I really need to sell them for $50 to make a respectable profit, and was selling them at $35-42 to facilitate sales, which covered cost of materials plus a tiny amount.
I make non-sorority ones that sell for $60-100, but in fabrics such as silk, velvet, denim, leather, fur--they are worth the cost.
At this point, I am mostly giving them as gifts, and then making them on the referrals I get from those.
Yes, and licensed vendor thing was a PAIN IN THE BUTT. The system is set up for companies the size of Nike, with resources and money, NOT for people like me, who are doing this one album at a time in their homes. They required samples and fees and it is just too much for a part time at home business.
