As many have responded, you did the right thing and you know it. However, I sympathize with your feeling. You know that you could have taken some of those clowns. You are trying to reconcile your sense of discretion with inherent sense to stand and fight. But as always, discetion is the better part of valor. Its wiser to take years of somebody calling you "daddy" over one day of defending your pride.

Much Respect for You!

Trust me Dexter, you did the right thing. Like you said things have changed- you have a family to consider. I have much respect for you- it takes a Man to step down, when the boys step up to play!

you did the right thing. same thing happened to me about year and a half ago. me and acouple of old heads rented out a club for some young heads, after the party greeks outside chantin and throwing it up(signs for those who need to know) a gang of locals jumped on a bruh who was around the corner of the with some female. so what do i do i jump in it. I'm 6 even 220 lbs, and feel like i just left brooklyn, so i can handle my own and someone elses. which i did, but i had a few momentos black eye and bruised ribs. still i had to go to work the next week. but i did realize one thing over the course of the healing period which seemed to take three times as long as when i was 18- uh 21 uh 22 etc etc. we's gitin ole bruh we's gitin ole. y you did the right thing and your family luvs you for it . i know i was glad to see my son the next week

Dexter, I commend you for both taking up for your younger frat brother AND walking away. I totally agree with everyone else when they said that you should not feel bad about what you did. Walking away CERTAINLY showed a HIGH level of maturity AND wisdom on YOUR part. Think of it THIS way. I'm willing to bet that the guys that you walked away from were embarassed and probably confused when you did that. You know, people usually aren't going to be intimidated or scared if you choose to follow them up. It's when you're quiet and you try to avoid physical and/or verbal confrontation that puts people on edge because they don't know WHAT you may be thinking or WHAT you may do.

I don't know the sex of your child. But it appears to me that you are setting a great example to him or her (specifically if your child is a boy). You're older, educated, and, most importantly, you respect YOURSELF. You did a very UNSELFISH act. You thought about the safety of you and your frat. And you thought about your family. That's something to be VERY proud of. And guess what? I'M PROUD OF YOU TOO!!!!!
