Oh! I thought this post was going to be about something else entirely. At any rate Denver is going to suck on the 4th. Drought and fire risk have led the cancellation of lots of firework shows. You can't go camping because of the fire ban. They're even restricting grilling in a charcoal grill at some city parks. That's all fine, I understand the risks and think they should crack down like this. Actually, I'm a little scared some kids will get a hold of some fireworks somehow and set the other half of our state on fire!!
I'll admit, I'm nervous. I'm going to Summerfest in Milwaukee, which is a gigantic festival on the lakefront and an excellent target. Then again, I'm one of those who's still having nightmares about 9/11 and freeze whenever I hear a plane overhead, so... maybe I'm a little paranoid
I don't think we as a nation should be scared on every celebration that we have...it's a bit counterproductive. If we're going to be terrified of every celebration let's get rid of them so that the terrorists have nothing to attack us at. I just don't think by return to normalcy they meant you should be scared every time 10,000 or more people get together.
I'm not too worried about it because if something is going to happen there is absolutely nothing I can do to stop it. I know it sucks for me to say that but it's the truth.
