You don't need to worry about this guy affecting your chances during rush. At my school (and I imagine it's like this at most places) frat guys have very little say on who sororities give bids to. If you're friends with an older guy, and that guy is tight with some girls in a certain sorority, he might go out of his way to make sure you (the freshman girl who's about to rush) get to know the sorority girls and vice versa. He can help you get noticed. If he says positive things about you, the older sorority girls might make a point to get to know you (if they trust his opinion). But anyhow, just because he's "rush chair" or whatever doesn't mean much of anything. He's probably just in charge of organizing his fraternity's rush process. It's not as if he has final say on who gets in and who doesn't. And what goes on in fraternities really has almost nothing to do with you and your sorority rush process. This guy won't have much bearing on your chances, other than to maybe tell his female friends what he thinks of you... and they can take his opinion for what they think it's worth.
