There is also a house on campus that once belonged to Alpha Sigma Phi. When they left campus, they sold it to the Christian Student Fellowship. I wonder how much longer CSF will be able to keep the house and why they would want to? I am surprised that some chapter like Phi Sig or Delta Chi hasn't just made them a ridiculous offer to buy the house.

Here is the remainder of the story that came out. The sexual assault cases were, as I've been told, one of the primary sticking points between ZBT and their landlord

Converting it to apartment style housing would cost him a lot of money. Converting it to a sorority house probably wouldn't cost him much at all, if anything, since you could probably get the sorority to cover a big chunk of it, if not all of it. The pictures to me say it needs some TLC, paint, curtains, carpet. None of this is cheap, but it is a house on campus, near other fraternities (and sororities, hopefully?), and appears to hold a reasonable number of members. It's still probably not going to sleep the 100+ that the sororities do, but I think it could be perfectly respectable.

As a member of one of the sororities with an unhoused chapter (or rather colony) there, I'd be seriously upset if we decided to waste tons of money renting a piece of crap house that would cost tons more of money to fix up. Boys and girls are different. What boys find acceptable girls usually do not - even allowing for "it's a fraternity house" - and girls who have been in this house are saying that it's a hovel. I'm not a priss, but they lost me at the partially dismantled a/c unit outside. I can't imagine what that would cost to repair for a house that size.
If you think it can be "respectable" then send your sisters at IU a note and urge THEM to move into it.

Unless the landlord takes it upon himself to renovate the house, I'm hoping that my sorority holds out for a more attractive option. I agree with most others that this is best suited for a smaller fraternity.

I had a couple friends who were living in the CSF house and the fact that that kind of house was located there always did strike me as a little odd...so that makes sense. A little off topic, but what happened to Alpha Sig? (They were our neighbors down the street in an otherwise residential area back at UM, so we shared plenty of good times with them!)
