We never did the whole Panhellenic t-shirt bit when I was in school - or theme, if I remember properly. But I really love this idea:

I can't think of a better way for each GLO to showcase their own accomplishments, from the on campus ones to the really exciting ones. BTW, did you know that "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" is one of Dr. Suess' best selling books - mostly for graduates?

My University has pretty much gone back to the standard "Go Greek" theme, but my sophomore year, it was a puzzle theme. Each sorority was written on a piece of a puzzle and the back was emblazoned with "Individually Unique. Together Complete." The front had the spelled out name of the member's sorority and then the sleeve featured the same puzzle piece from the back. That's always been one of my favorite Panhellenic shirts.

I get that you're new...stick around awhile. This sort of stuff happens every day. No point in getting your panties in a wad over it. Besides:

If you give me suggestions, give me a way that we can use it signs promoting recruitment or on tshirts
This is clearly an imperative statement, implying that if you are going to give a suggestion, you MUST feed it to you on a silver spoon with all details laid out. A simple "could you" goes a long way to change the tone of a post. We have no inflection to go off of on the internet, so we don't know if you're on your knees begging for this, or sitting on a throne on the top of a large dais looking down on the lowliest to do your bidding.

When I first read that I thought "I guess she tooooold them the rules of engagement." I'm accustomed to people typing the equivalent of "please" before you all give them suggestions. I guess 'tis the season for giving.

I'm serious! You could have shirts that say "Gym, Tan, Sisterhood" and all the Rho Gammas could wear bumpits so they're easy for the PNM's to find.

I honestly think Jersey Shore would be hilarious and awesome, if it was done in a way that the PNMs realized everyone was kidding and that Snooki fashion tips are not apropos for Greek life.

I love this because it is both hilarious and horrible (hillarible, I guess)!

Our recruitment theme this year was really cute. It was "Sisterhood is Powerful." I know it's not like... a pop culture theme, but it was a good statement.

Our recruitment themes were pretty simple. The past four were:

"Letters Today, Leaders Tomorrow"
"Speak Greek"
"Be A Goddess, Go Greek" (each sorority had shirts identifying what house they were in. Really cute!)
"Try It, Love It, Live It"

As for the Jersey Shore theme, I wish there was a "Like" button or something because that would be hilarious!

This was our design for Fall

At another university I saw a cute "Where do you fit?" puzzle theme. Groups were different colors. I thought it was really cute and simple. I feel like the Panhellenic theme should stay somewhat simple so it's not too overwhelming -- recruitment is crazy enough as it is!

Disclaimer based on the themes that I've seen over the years:

Themes should be planned carefully as to avoid any appearance of mocking particular groups or ridiculing people. A Jersey Shore theme is hilarious until you have people who take it to the next level of seemingly mocking Italians (Snooki is a fake Italian) or mocking people from certain parts of the country. Even mocking tans and bumpits can be offensive to some people. "Speak Greek" could have also been taken to the extreme if some people translated that to be GLOs mimicking people who are ethnically and culturally Greek. You have to make it clear that you mean "Speak Greek(dom--GLO'dom)."

Observation:

The original poster is closer to the age of the chicks going through recruitment than anyone who has posted.... so I am not understanding how Sex and The City is "played out" among her age group if she's obviously in her age group.

And by "I am not understanding" I mean shut up.
