As a frequent flier, I've wanted to do the same thing on a plane soooo many times.

He seemed happy to be arrested according to the article. Maybe he is hoping for better/more sex in prison.

I'm sure you're being facetious, but @ the bold.

He's my new hero. Working in the service industry can suck and I believe in always trying your best to be polite to everyone, but some customers/clients need to go to hell.

I've only had one outburst. While working in a restaurant I had a customer berate me and the rest of the staff for, as far as I could tell, being alive and in the same vicinity as she. The last straw was when I told her we were out of a certain smoothie ingredient, so I wouldn't be able to make the flavor she wanted. This angered her so that she expressed her feelings by telling me that I was a "little fucking bitch" and that she thought we (I assume "we" was the staff, but considering her attitude towards human kind in general she could've meant everyone that wasn't her) should all go "fuck ourselves" for not making sure to keep all of our ingredients stocked and that she should get a free smoothie in a different flavor since she couldn't get her favorite one. I told her I apologized, but that we could not serve her because every breath she took was a waste of oxygen, and also because she was a rancid stain and health codes prohibited those.

Fortunately it was a family owned business and since several people backed me up on her behavior and words I didn't lose my job. She actually tried to come back the next week. She was told to leave and that the police would be called if she ever came back.

Web embraces JetBlue flight attendant in NY ruckus

Quote:
NEW YORK – A folk hero in digital times, JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater has been thoroughly embraced by the Web.

Not only have news stories about his meltdown on a plane from Pittsburgh to New York City been exceptionally popular on the Internet, but he's been feted in all manner of online tribute. Even JetBlue Airways Corp. wryly noted on its blog post Wednesday that many people reacted: "Like, the entire Internet."

Slater has consistently ranked as one of the most popular topics on Twitter and has birthed a small cottage industry of Facebook pages, with titles such as "Free Steven Slater" and "I Support Steven Slater."

One group, dubbed the "Steven Slater Legal Defense Fund," is seeking to raise money for the airline veteran. More than 650 people are members of the group, which was founded by Gary Baumgardner, a pilot who pledges transparency in donating all the collections to Slater. He said he had raised more than $1,500 as of early Wednesday.
