My kids aren't little, so I don't see much cute stuff out of them anymore, as I mentioned earlier. However, my kids are at their dad's house this week and tonight, my son called me. I figured he wanted something because, at 13, the boy generally doesn't just call to chat. However, this time, he was just calling to chat. He was bored and he wanted to talk. So, he talked and talked and talked and talked. He talked about his Halloween plans, his science class, some tv shows he'd seen. It was so bizarre. I'm still trying to figure out what he wanted, but, he didn't want anything, except to talk.
ETA: He did something else the last week that he was at his dad's. We had been talking about going to see Where the Wild Things Are as a family (my daughter, my son and myself) because my mom had read that book to me as a kid and then read it to my kids too. It was a favorite for all of us and, it reminded us of her. I received a text message from my son one evening, the week that it was going to premiere, saying "I've been thinking and I really don't think that I can go see Where the Wild Things Are and remain emotionally stable at the same time." <blink> 13 year old boy showing emotion and insight? I texted back "Cuz of grandma?" and he texted back "Yes". Brought tears to my eyes. He *is* in touch with his emotions even if he can only share them via text messages.

I see no "nephew stories thread" but I have to tell someone that my 2-year-old nephew can now count to 10, recognize numbers, and call me on the phone at 6:00 AM.
Ok, that last thing isn't so cute, but yay!

Aw he's thinking of you
I spoke to my family today (they live across the country) and they shared a cute story about my sister (2 years old). When she wakes up in the morning, she takes her bottle into the bedroom and watches some early morning cartoons. Apparently there is a picture on the night stand next to bed where she lays and watches tv. Every morning she proudly proclaims, "That's my sister chickenoodle. We're a family."
I also had a chance to talk to my sister on the phone. She gets so shy on the phone. My sister managed to say "Hi chickenoodle," and "I love you" before bailing.
I thought it was really sweet because I don't get to go home very often, and I've only seen my little sister 3 times since she was born.

While I'm finishing up my breakfast and email, I can hear Annalisse on the monitor, starting to wake up and she's going "adadada *squeal* dididididi *growl* ammmummmm"
But I think she fell back asleep and I was typing that, because all the sudden she went quiet again.

I was driving my 7 year old to school and it was still dark (his school starts at 7:30am) and he said "Mom if the stars are still out, shouldn't I still be in bed?". I couldn't argue with him.

Mama's Boys...
I just love how my 5 and 6 year old are all Michael Jackson crazy, as if they really got to experience him as most of us did. But I love it when we get in the car to go somewhere, the first thing they ask is "Mom can we listen to Michael Jackson"? and I course oblige, then the argument comes in.... my 5 yr old says: Mom put it on "Millie Jean" and my 6 yr old says: no I wanna listen to "Thwiller" too freakin cute! lol
