This is not funny, but I can always tell there is a problem when you ALWAYS have to use cash for everything.
I told you there was an embarassed smile on Teresa's face when Danielle clowned and said her house was in foreclosure. There was something Teresa was pretty defensive about and it SHOWED!

I think that I would be more sympathetic if she and Joe lived within their means. Yes, it is sad that they're losing their belongs (even their mattress!), but what do you expect when you go on 2000.00 shopping sprees for your children?

I really can't because I don't watch it. I also do not know anyone affiliated with the show. But if you notice, I did mention that the Laguna Beach did have "suggested" conversations. I am not aware of who are/were the producers and/or show runners for the Hills. Tried watching it, but....too vapid.

Ahhh I see. I was just curious cause I know there was a lot of "drama" about it.
I hadn't seen any of the previous episodes, but I did catch that last scene. Apparently they staged it to appear like they were on a regular street saying "goodbye" to each other, and when the camera panned out, you saw they were actually between warehouses, the car never drove away, and all the backdrops were moved.
But ehhh.

"Suggested" conversations and "suggested" hanging out and "suggested" altercations are staging. I firmly believe that all reality shows have done that since the first few seasons of the Real World. LOL.

I don't think it's funny. I just think it's sad.

Agree, I was looking at the list and it has things like their bedroom furniture on it. I can't imagine how difficult it is to be loosing everything.

Wow - so are they just going to sleep on rollaway beds and cook in the fireplace? ITA about the paying with cash - that raised a red flag for me too. And I don't think I've spent $2000 on clothing for my kids over their entire lives!

Wow, so much of their stuff is ugly. And who the hell really has a suit of armor in their house? I think they were trying too hard to look rich...or they just have bad taste.

Well, Teresa did say she decorated everything herself, ... and, boy, does it show. I gotta give it to her, though, ... the whole place is SPOTLESS. And I wouldn't mind bidding on that baby grand piano me-self.

ITA. Like so many other things, how much of it is "for show"? Does anyone play that piano or the "faux" marble chess set? Why is everything so ornate? What's with the gilded everything? Shiny, shiny, shiny.
Sorry the pics are so big, I just wanted to give a few examples of how everything is shiny and "gold".
The picture below makes me laugh for two reasons.
A. A suit of armor, usually found in very old homes (castles) where it's a piece of history/antigue or a piece of one's ancestry (or someone that was really into Ren Fairs lol). Why in New Jersey? It's likely a replica, and like many other things in houses like this, serves no other purpose than to try to "look rich".
B. Who is going to use a dart board when there are two fragile-looking candle holders right below it? Darts next to a light switch? Where's the chalk line you are supposed to stand behind. If it's "for show", why a dart board?
(Let me just add that I do have a friend who has a grand piano in her foyer, and when she bought it, her babies were under a year old, and no one in the house played piano. She told me that they had bought it because they needed something to "fill" the foyer. )
