^^ I get that they're cable channels. I just wondered if they meant something else. (Similar to how bbq is BBQ, but can mean something more entertaining like "bitch be quiet".)

LOL grilled meat - it's a good think I'm not at work today or they'd think I'm crazier than they already do for the belly laugh I gave that.
It was kinda like a santa-esque "Ho ho ho" - I should lay off the red and green M&Ms.

Not to be mean but if getting guys and what sorority your friends are in is your main reasons and worries for joining a sorority, then I think you need to look a little deeper before you decide to rush.
1-each sorority was founded on different sets of ideas, morals, and beliefs. The women who are a part of that sorority stand for them, embody them, and live for them. All the social stuff you talked about were all perks to the feeling of sisterhood you get from being in a sorority.
2- when deciding what sorority you want to rush you have to be selfish. You have to look and see where you fit and where you think you can truly grow and be involved. You should in a way fall in love with which ever one you pick. Just remember as much as you are looking for a sorority, the actives are also looking for girls that can carry on the great legacy they've established.
3-being confident in yourself is fine, but if you do end up pledging somewhere you might want to be careful b/c you come across as cocky in your original post and that could get on the bad side of some of the older sisters and pledging could end up being a rough time for you; instead of learning the reason behind your pledging activities you'll end up missing that completely b/c they may end up trying to break you of that.
I'm not trying to be rude, but I think before you make this decision you need to find out what greek life is truly about. While it has it's perks-parties, cute shirts, and all the other stuff, it's more about the women who stand next to you and the standards you strive to uphold.

hey everyone, I just want to apologize for all the things I said, they were silly and immature and I should not have come onto this site acting like that. My friend and I have since made up, and I will be going through recruitment in the fall. Also, I want to apologize to anyone who was mistaken for me during the course of this thread, this is the only screen name I have, so for those who defended me I hope this clears things up.
