Did Russell know during the filming of his season that he would be on the next All-Stars?

One of the best exit-interviews ever. Loved it!
I really can't believe JT just gave the II away like that. I think Candace reacted perfectly, though. (She thought it was a mistake, but recognized that it got the II out of JT's hands, so she went with it.) Part of me felt bad for JT when Parvati and Russell were laughing while reading JT's note, but the villain in me laughed right along with them. I still just can't believe JT gave it away. It's almost like he completely forgot he was on Survivor.

Count me in with the people who think JT is an IDIOT. So are the rest of the Heroes for going along with that. Did anyone try to talk him out of it? What part of "they're the villains" did they not understand?
And that letter to Russell . . . seriously?! That was just hysterical.

I meant about him trying to "buy" the title from Natalie. I had previously thought that he had wanted it so bad because he didn't do very well on this season.

It's worth watching some of the secret scenes at CBS.com.
In one, JT guesses that Parvati might have an idol, but figures that if Russell plays the idol that would flush out Parvati's idol and at least one of the girls would be out. He thinks it would be "even better" if Parvati is still there because that would mean she played an idol and now the girls don't have one.
In another, Russell says the story for the Heroes will be that he and Parvati both played idols. (He doesn't say anything to indicate that he knows she really has one.) Because he suspected Parvati might have an idol, he voted for Courtney, "the second in charge of the girls' alliance." His only concern is that Sandra will say they didn't play any idols, so he's going to plant the "Sandra is a world-class liar" seed as quickly and deeply as possible, and he's going to have his alliance make sure Sandra stays in their sights, espcially if Rupert is around.
Meanwhile, in his blog Jeff says "We told [all the Survivors] at the start of the show that they should read a lot into the fact that while they hadn’t seen Russell play, Russell was selected as one of the 5 most notorious male villains of all time."
I know Jeff sees some gameplay in what JT was trying to do, but the secret scenes just highlight JT's stupidity and delusion.

I was hoping it would be recap week this week, as I will be on the stage of the Belk Theatre, performing Beethoven's 9th Symphony during Survivor this week, but I don't think I'm having any such luck. I may have to stay out of this thread until Saturday morning.
Until then:
Freude, schöner Götterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
Deine Zauber binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.

I actually just watched the last episode.
I understand that they obviously can't show EVERYTHING that happens at camp, but JT and the rest of the guys didn't seem to hesitate AT ALL about handing the HII over to Russell. I don't only blame JT. They're all stupid. I don't know what made them believe there was an all-girl alliance, anyway. And again, even if they thought it was a possibility, why was there no thinking or strategizing involved before making such a huge move? The whole idea seemed to come out of nowhere, and suddenly, in their minds, it was fact.
As much as I'm rooting for the Heroes to bounce back from this, I don't think I'd be too upset if they didn't. I can't wait to see their faces next week when they start piecing all of this together.

I'm glad JT's stupidity bit him in the ass. Also I think Rupert was smart by showing Russel wasn't to be trusted.

Yes. And a very smart move by the other side. It'll be interesting to see if Sandra can shake things up next time. She has two strengths: flying under the radar and stirring the pot.

Completely awesome tribal council tonight.
JT's parting interview: "You can't trust women, ever." WTH? It was a man that betrayed him, not a woman. Parvati is a smart player, but she didn't do anything to betray his trust.

Wow. What a tribal!
I like JT. I really do. But I think he's where he needs to be. His gameplay is what led him to the jury, so although I'm a fan, well... he's where he needs to be.
