thanks in advance,

If i were you i would quit worrying so much about being in a top house and find a group of girls that you fit into. that's what being in a sorority is about. it isnt about being with the most popular girls on campus, or whose prettier. that's shallow. and if those are the reason you want to be in a sorority then you should really rethink your decision. a sorority is about finding a bond that you will share with these women forever. and who cares about what your friend thinks? if she doesnt talk to you just because you go to a different house, then she wasnt your friend in the first place.

I see statements like this one pretty often on GC. But, in reality, don't all of our organizations have members who started out like this? There are people out there who choose majors, jobs, cars, mates, etc. based on popularity, money, etc.
Those same people are in our organizations. You'd hope over time that we'd all begin to realize what's important in life.
In any case, when GCers advise PNMs and aspirants not to look at the most popular organizations, but to find the organizations they fit best into...well, what if the organization they fit into is an organization that is composed of people who are concerned about looks, popularity and money?
We all want different things out of life.

I don't think anyone is saying that every single member - or even themselves - went through rush with only the most lofty of intentions. I'm sure out there is a sorority woman who just joined to meet a husband and wound up national president. The thing is the utter lack of social skills about the OP's posts.
The one sorority on my campus that I thought was just about being popular - I've seen these girls 20 years later, and there are still true bonds there. I think any chapter that's only about status and has no bonding whatsoever won't last.

I was really just making a general comment. It's been established that the OP isn't worth comment!

Look, guys - the OP was sad that her thread died out, so she created another username to bump it. Are we really going to give her that kind of satisfaction?

I'm always curious about how people who act like this on the internet come across in real life. Do they manage to blend in with the rest of society and act like normal people or do they spout this type of nonsense?

I missed this thread the first time around; I'm so glad it was bumped! Here are some of my favorite parts about it:
1. The OP was edited by the OP for, of all things, spelling.
2. Freedom of speech, man!
3. Birth of a new band: Save the Aimees
4. Senusret I's comment about KSUViolet having wept because her internship causes her to miss GC fun
5. missdynamic saying, "no, I <3 myself, you are not me." (glad we got that settled!)
6. lolomgwtfbbqcnncbs (~KSUViolet) (I've never seen cnncbs at the end of lolomgwtfbbq, and I can't help but wonder what, if anything, it actually means. It also makes me think of an older GC thread where someone (crazy azul bat guano, perhaps) asked what the bbq meant and Dionysus(? maybe?) said, "Bitch, be quiet!" Ah, good times.)
7. Ad: "Crazy NPHC Rumors" got me tickled, too.
Thanks to this thread, it's been a lovely morning. Instead of popcorn and mixed drinks, I enjoyed this thread with a cup of coffee and a scone. I guess it's now time to actually work. Thanks for making my morning, GC! Happy Thursday!

LMAO i thought it was just BBQ as in, ribs, chicken, etc. because i read it aloud as "oh my god what the f*ck barbeque" which makes no sense but is funny to me.
cause i liken various GC threads to a hot plate of unexpected grilled meat, mentally exclaiming "OMGWTFBBQ."

LOL!! I did not know it could mean Bitch Be Quiet either!!!! I thought it was just making fun of internet speak by adding a random acronym to the end of OMGWTF. Kind of like when people go "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ONE!!!11!!!ELEVEN!!"

Laughed out loud at this. I do believe that I will start responding to all crazy threads with OMGWTFBBQ and I will totally be thinking ribs from Herman's in Fayetteville, AR.
By the way, I think the other Aimees will be okay in rush because there is no way that they will be as beautiful or as successful in attracting boys as our OP.
Or our OP will, no doubt, manage to hook up with a member's boyfriend (or two or three) before rush starts and get released before pref thereby saving the other Aimee's from peril.
One last (awful) thought: could the OP be an evil beeotch who is actually trying to sabotage someone who is really named Aimee? Heaven help her if that is true...
