IMHO, the nice guys are sitting on the sidelines just like the good girls....I know that I am incredibly shy when it comes to men, maybe the good ones are that way too? Also, the good ones ARE nice, and nowadays, people are suspicious of those who are nice...For some reason, nice=overeager, asskisser. Personally, I LOOOOVE the nice guys...they just don't seem to speak up when their obnoxious friends are there, so I don't get a chance to notice them (in a crowd, I mean, not in a more intimate situation)
And what does the saying mean anyway: "finish last"...How so? Because you don't score with the cheerleader? Or because you feel that no one notices you because you are refreshingly polite and cordial??
