I am really starting to believe that the good guys will always finish last. Bc we try not to hurt everyone else but in that same time we get hurt. who else agrees with me and if someone would like to give there input that would be great.

IMHO, the nice guys are sitting on the sidelines just like the good girls....I know that I am incredibly shy when it comes to men, maybe the good ones are that way too? Also, the good ones ARE nice, and nowadays, people are suspicious of those who are nice...For some reason, nice=overeager, asskisser. Personally, I LOOOOVE the nice guys...they just don't seem to speak up when their obnoxious friends are there, so I don't get a chance to notice them (in a crowd, I mean, not in a more intimate situation)

And what does the saying mean anyway: "finish last"...How so? Because you don't score with the cheerleader? Or because you feel that no one notices you because you are refreshingly polite and cordial??

(NOTE: I mean hypothetical you, not YOU ChopperLI905)....

if I'm the last one to get a disease, so be it.

You do realize that 20/20 and CNN did a study that showed that once you talk like this, it's a huge indication that things don't work out with you and girls because you like men...right?

It's not nice guys that finish last, but the meek ones. Meek women too. Hardly anyone wants to be with someone who has no self confidence, no sexual spark and lets themselves be walked all over. But, most people want to be with someone who is fundamentally good.

This is so true...Chopper, it sounds like (from this and your other thread in here) that you're just going through a crappy situation: you like a girl and she's totally playing you. It sucks, but will happen to everyone at some point in their life. I'm not sure how old you are but I'm assuming you're 21-22 just by your posts. That being said, this will not be the first time this type of shit happens to you. It's not because you're too nice, most girls actually like nice guys, it's because you're letting the chick (and maybe others before her) walk all over you. Walking around with a "poor me. I'm too nice" attitude isn't going to get you anywhere with the ladies. Women like confident men just like men like confident women. People who wear insecurities on their sleeve, whether male or female, are easy to take advantage of and use for selfish purposes. Sorry if that offends anyone, but it's just true. So don't be that guy! I obviously don't know you at all, but most people have at least a few things going for them. So develop your confidence, stay a "nice guy" and the ladies will love it. I don't think "nice guys" necessarily finish last. The problem is with guys who are "too nice." I like to get flowers, but not every day! That makes a girl think the guy is desperate.

And when you ask a girl out on a date, have a few things for her to choose from. Don't be "too nice" and just say, "What do you want to do?" Girls like guys who take the time to plan.

Be careful about calling too much. There's nothing that sends me running away quicker than a guy who calls and calls and calls and calls.

I'm not advocating game playing-- but a guy has to show a little restraint when he's head over heals for a girl. Be a little bit of a challenge.

Lots of people (myself included) love the "chase" involved in a new relationship. Guys that are overly nice tend to kill this part.. they make it too easy, and who really wants that? If a guy calls every day and makes himself seem super available for the person, it doesn't leave any excitement to the beginning of a relationship..
