But if they're not my values, why should I observe them? If I moved to India, I probably wouldn't celebrate Diwali. I'd still decorate a tree, hang up a stocking, and sing "here comes Santa Claus" until I was blue in the face.

I know you're an immigrant just like I am: did you give up all of the traditions of your homeland as soon as you landed?
