I never picked up on the DAR reference in Glass Menagerie. But that makes me wonder. I've always understood that DAR is very exclusive/prestigious. Basically the way it was portrayed on Gilmore Girls, Newbie. But in the play, the family was; well, not what I'd picture as members of DAR.
