Let me see if I can clear this up.
Theta Men is an old-school term that originated at Alpha Chapter in the '60's and is primarily used by Brothers among the Brothers.
(We have a old song called "Theta Man" that I'm not sure any of the younger Brothers even know! 
)
From a "Proper Protocol" and "Preferred Practice" standpoint, we prefer to be called
"Iotas" or
"Iota Men."

P.S. In spite of all of this, quite often we simply get referred to as "Them Damn Iotas!" ... and we don't mind that either!
