 That sandwhich was crazy!!!
Yeah, those kids are far too overweight and they are asking for health problems. Those kids with probably wind up with typ 2 diabetes in their 20's.

I wanted to smack that lady that looked shocked when the little girl said she hated shopping. I was like pick up your jaw woman, you'd hate shopping too if you couldn't wear any of the clothes that were instyle for kids her age. I mean the west coast lady had a stick for a daughter.
Although, it looks like the next epsiode they go shopping together and she actually helps her find somethings that she likes, but in the preview she comes out a store all excited saying how much she loved that store.

LMBO. Yes!! I thought it was just me but I was thinking "dayum, this boy looks like he's having a 'release' thinking about this sandwich."

and you betta watch his daddy, cause he was looking at Ms. California Blondie like ole girl 'bout to get a late night visitor "Oh, my bad. I thought this was the bathroom. But since I'm here...."

No, TonyB did NOT say "release!" OK, that is just too much for me!!! Those kids are too big for their age. I wasn't paying attention when they were talking about the pizza. All I heard was him repeatedly saying the pizza was tiny. So I just had to look up and the slices were HUGE!! What is wrong with them?

I, too, was skeptical about the same town switch when now they are flying people cross country. Maybe they didn't expect the response they got. It probably was a trial show and once they saw the ratings blow up, they uped the budget.

Some people should not volunteer for stuff like this (like the West Coast family). If you are EXTREMELY set in your ways and know that you border on being downright rude and tactless, then don't loan out your mom!! For one, it would be no fun if they traded families with people that were just like them. No one wants to see that. However, regardless of how different a person is from you, you should make them welcome. After all, YOU VOLUNTEERED!! On the other hand, if you are from Roadrunner Travel Park #4, don't be bringing your rude and obnoxious ways up into the suburbs and have the audacity to cry and be hurt when they don't accept you.

Don't forget that they "volunteered" under the assumption that they were getting $50,000 out of it. When you put that kind of money into the equation, people stop thinking about being too "set in their ways" and start thinking about cash. SHOOT, I'll be rude and set in my ways on tv for $50,000!!!!!!!!!

My bad, RedefinedDiva; I thought "release" was cleaning it up. Ima go with AKA2D's New England Journal of Medicine-approved "the boy was about to have a (you know)."
...is that betta?

"Release" is cool. It was just so funny!! Then, I wasn't thinking clearly, so I was a bit overwhelmed!

It's sad when sandwiches can bring someone to such a point of ecstacy.

Oh. My. Dayums. When ol' boy just asked Lisa (Mrs. Bowers) what size her trailer was, I wanted to SCREAM!!!! She is sitting there acting all high and mighty, knowing that she lives in a trailer!!! She came there talking about how their house wasn't worth it and all that. HELLO!? You live in a double-wide!! She keeps talking about how she does "dental therapy." PUH-LEEZE! You clean teeth, just like that woman said.

Samantha (Mrs. Pilek) is trying to make a difference and she really is. She is trying to give Katy a little bit of self-esteem. She is also trying to help the Erik feel confident. They don't get that much. They are stuck in those overweight bodies and don't know what to do. I hope that Katy does try to dress better and get in shape. I hope that Erik trims down also. When they said they were going for a run, I thought BOTH of them would be running. Katy was on the scooter and I was trpping. At least she was getting some leg exercise.

I DO NOT feel sorry for Lisa AT ALL!! She has been rude and obnoxious since day one. Of course, the Pilek family wasn't all that inviting, she wasn't making it easy. I can go on for days, but I can see where this episode is headed.

My predictions for the money:
I don't know what Lisa will do, but Samantha will probably make them put a down payment on a real house, get some gym memberships, buy some clothes for Katy, etiquette classes for the family, cooking classes for Erik, and spend some on the bills. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

The Pileks are from my neck of the woods (Laguna Hills, Calif.), and their type of house is mad common and mad expensive. Jurek, the daddy, does seem a bit pricky. Maybe it's the accent, LOL, although Lisa's witchy and needs to ditch the attitude -- she lives in the freaking trailer park!
Samantha looks like an older Britney Spears, but she does seem like she's being helpful. Getting gym memberships is a good idea -- those kids need some physical activity. And Lisa and Craig could use some too.

While I thought Lisa had little social grace and came off very abrassive, that was no reason for the LA family to be so rude and unwelcoming. They didn't give her a chance, they ignored her, and their friends were outright nasty and pathetic. You just don't speak to someone like that when they are a guest in your friends' home.

I agree with you, Leslie; although Lisa brought a lot of it on herself. She absolutely "crushed" the boy with her batting cage criticism and then was like "no hard feelings, son. did you have fun?" Even though Lisa had issues, the California family, especially the husband, could have made a better effort.

And who told the skinny women on the boat they were fine? A few of em could have used a steak or two in their lives, collarbones all sticking out? take that mess on somewhere. The boat was the only time I felt bad for Lisa, cause they iced her out royally.

Samantha was pretty cool, at least she made the best of the situation and reached the kids on a level their own mother may not reach much anymore. And you know Lisa's husband Craig was down at the bowling alley the next week telling his boys how he "hit that" before she went back to Cali. He was cheesin the whole time she was there.
next week's ep looks good...

I absolutely agree with you, but when we saw her with her own family she treated them that way too. She obviously has issues beyond the show.

I just think the LA family had attitude from the beginning. Instead of trying to embrace a new experience for a few days, they planned on treating her like an unwanted houseguest from the second their real wife/mom stepped out the door. I mean, when Lisa said I want to show you what it's like in my house for a few days and asked the kids to do VERY simple chores, you would have thought she was asking something tragic or un-do-able. Pick your pampered asses up and do something for yourselves for once in your lives!

I sort of agree with you, but I was the same way when I was younger. I was by no means rich, but I am the only child and was not required to do some things. So, like them, if someone was to had come in my house one day demanding that I perform chores that I was not used to, I would have looked at them like they had three eyes. Regardless of how "simple" they are, if I don't do chores with my REAL family, then a stranger for damn sure won't make me do them.

The LA family did have major attitude and I am not excusing them, but Lisa was off the handle with them and was trying to play the victim. Though I am all for being yourself in all situations, you have to try to "modify" your behavior for given situations. You don't criticize people for what they do. Although that little girl has NO chance of EVER being the next Britney Spears, she did not have to interupt her singing lesson. She steadly criticized Zach's batting practice. She was too dramatic about the chair situation. Just grab a towel and sit on the sand. All she did was mope around and drink up all the juice.
