An excellent question! Some colleges will let you rent out a locker. If that is available to you, then definitely go for this. It can get exhausting carrying around heavy textbooks from A->B all day long.

Another thing you could do: join a club or greek letter organization , as one benefit may be that they have an office where you can safely leave your stuff for a few hours.
(Of course, that is NOT the sole reason why you should join, merely a side benefit!)

Lastly, if your school has a gymnasium, recreation centre, or sports facility, they might have lockers there that you can use to store your stuff.

Otherwise....I guess it's the good ol' 20 lb. backpack everyday!
