I work on a research project at the VA. I call veterans on the phone and ask them a few questions, etc. Most of these men are so happy to hear from ANYBODY that they will try to keep me on the phone all day.
If your chapter is looking for a community service project, go visit some veterans (either at a retirement home or something like that) and listen to their stories. Some will talk about their combat experiences, some will just talk about fishing. But they would love the attention.
