A new member of a fraternity (no longer on campus) was really drunk, passed out and choked on his own vomit therefore dying. IFC fraternities just got off of deferred rush because of this incident...the Chico greek system was/is under heavy supervision because of this incident, and because Chico tends to be known as a "party school".
If you do a search on GC you will find other posts about this incident...doesn't really need to be brought up again though.
