*If a child bends over and looks between his/her legs, a sibling is usually on the way and mommy will soon be pregnant.

Funny, I know...but my mom totally believes in each one of those I've listed. I find myself believing in them too sometimes.

Don't worry, OohTeenyWahine. It's not only in Hawaii. Many of these I have heard also from my mom and she's from the Caribbean!
Also:

I've heard that for a hiccupping baby you're supposed to take a piece of string, lint, etc from the child's clothing and stick it on their forehead with your saliva!

If you're in a room by yourself and it sounds like someone is calling you, DON"T ANSWER! It could be the spirits. (yeah, yeah, I know).

Question: Has anyone experienced laying in bed and feeling that you couldn't move? like you were being held down? Some call this a witch/devil riding your back. Have you heard of this?
