My parents had some leather furniture (sofa and loveseat) when I was growing up. The only trouble we had with them is that they are man-eating. Once you sit down, you need a couple of friends to get back up!
If you spill liquid on them, wipe it up immediately.
Keep sharp objects away (good idea for any sofa, actually).
