Leather furniture!
:) So Mr. Carnation and I went to a Rooms To Go outlet yesterday and got a fantastic set of leather furniture at a huge discount! That outlet is incredible--it's mostly the leftover pieces of sets that people wanted to break up. I'm sitting here waiting for delivery.
Does anyone have comments on leather furniture? We want to know the best way to care for our new sofas plus our 2-year-old one as well. |
Keep any sharp objects away, lest you get a ripped couch. I'd recommend treating the leather with a good leather cleaner or saddle soap to keep it clean.

My parents had some leather furniture (sofa and loveseat) when I was growing up. The only trouble we had with them is that they are man-eating. Once you sit down, you need a couple of friends to get back up! :)
If you spill liquid on them, wipe it up immediately. Keep sharp objects away (good idea for any sofa, actually). Will let you know if I think of anything else. Enjoy your new furniture :) |
I have a leather couch. Don't put anything on the couch except you. My couch is grey and newspaper print transfered to the couch. It cleaned up well, but it it better to prevent a problem than clean it up.

I have cream leather couches and use leather cleaner and conditioner on them regularly. A few years ago I discovered a secret leather cleaner though:
IVORY SNOW Just mix it with water and use a sponge and you won't believe the way it cleans the leather. Wipe an area clean and immediately follow it with a dry towel to wipe the wetness away. Do not allow the water to sit on the leather. Follow it with a leather conditioner. I buy my leather conditioner at Pep Boys b/c they sell huge containers for fairly inexpensive for car leather conditioning. Good luck! Laura |
Keep kids (toddlers) away from it. My niece did quite a number on my parents' leather set--even after they conditioned it, and they take care of it fairly well.
