Carnation ... great summary of what happens in an expansion.

In the case of NMSU, the collegiate panhellenic voted in the fall to expand and that information was communicated to the 21 NPC groups not on campus via NPC. Most of the 21 groups responded with interest and were sent packets of information about the campus and the greek system. The NPC groups looked over the expansion information then responded with materials of their own. The expansion committee ( made up of members of each of the 5 NPC chapters) reviewed all the materials that were sent by the NPC groups and decided which 3 groups to invite to come to campus to present. The presentations were made over 3 straight days in the middle of April to the expansion committee and anyone else who wanted to attend. After the presentations, the expansion committee met and voted on which goup to extend the bid to.
