The panhellenic council at New Mexico State Univ. (Las Cruces, NM) has announced that it will be opening for expansion in spring 2003. Here's the link to the campus greek newspaper. (Page down to get to the expansion article)

The presentations and selection will happen in spring 2003, colonization of the new group will be spring 2004.

5 NPC groups are currently on campus: Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta, Zeta Tau Alpha, Pi Beta Phi, and Chi Omega.

How exciting! Kappa has a new chapter at Univ. of Central Florida, but another new chapter would be terrific!!!

The three NPC groups that will be presenting at New Mexico State are Delta Gamma, Kappa Delta and Alpha Sigma Alpha. The presentations will take place on April 22-24. The choice will probably be made by Friday, April 25.

Good luck to these three groups. The Greek system at NMSU is really great to work with.

Wow, I hope ASA gets it! We really need to expand west, and while we don't have any chapters in NM right now, we do have a very active alum chapter in Phoenix and it would be awesome for them to have collegians to fuss over. :)

There is a colony at the University of Alaska Anchorage...which is pretty far west. Likely the furthest north and west chapter in ASA.

Excellent organizations and good luck to all. Too bad Phi Mu wasn't up for it... it would be nice to have at least one western chapter.

I know about the Anchorage colony...but except for two chapters in Colorado we have nothing from the Rockies westward. We need to fill in the gaps. :)

Does anyone know how they choose who will be invited to present and potentially expand at a given campus? and who decides who will be allowed to come on campus?? i'm from a campus where greeks aren't recognized so would panhell decide? (if it was a sorority)
