Munchkin03, I inferred from your comments that you thought the high-tech machines were needed. You might not have used those words, but "disenfranchised" and "not that privileged" connotate something missing. Like I said in my post, I've used many types of machines--they all seemed pretty simple to me.
I agree with Cluey that people have to accept responsibility for their votes. I guess voting is kind of like having babies--people don't have to prove their competence or intelligence to do either.
