There is more to Wrigleyville than sports bars. The 3,000-square-foot Fuel joins the area's nightlife circuit with what it's calling a "restaubar," which marries upscale food with the energy and atmosphere of Chicago's hottest clubs. The interior verges on industrial -- rubber, steel and chrome. The hard, cold metal is juxtaposed with lush, plush velvet curtains and a seductive fireplace. Suspended above one of the bars is a vintage motorcycle.
Fuel's menu is rich with appetizers, salads, sandwiches and eclectic main courses ranging from New York strip steak with fries and slaw to lake perch and BBQ ribs. On Sundays, get all food and drinks for half the price.
When the Cubs play at home, the bar opens earlier and has free brats and dogs, and $2 beers an hour before and after the game.
