I know a Soror that actually went to one of these date events in NYC and actually enjoyed her self. She says that it has to be a mutal attraction before you exchange information. You can give as little or as much info. as you want. It's up to both parties to either set up a follow up date or what have you.
That was about a month ago, she didn't make a "love" connection, but has a new cool "hang out" friend. I say to each his/her own.
