OK ... I don't get this. While Greeks are a big deal at these schools, they certainly aren't the majority of the student body. So how hard would it be for the GDIs to say, screw this, we're sick on this un-democratic politicking, and run their own candidate with a strong campaign? It would seem to me they can only run things if they're not running anything important enough for anyone else to care about.
