This weekend the police presence in New York City specifically Queens was overwhelming. I think it is because of Sept. 11th, the U.S. Open, and the two airports. My sister said that it looked like we are on high alert. I hope that nothing will happen, but I figure that it is better to be safe than sorry.
I continue to mourn the loss of my neighbor who was a firefighter and several others in my neighborhood. I will attend a candlelight memorial ceremony for them.
