1. Parents who couldn't care less where their kids go or what they're doing--and lately, the upper middle class is very guilty of this. So what if their kid is downloading porno on the computer of the ten-year-old next door?
2. Parents who deny their kid ever does anything wrong, even in the face of proof. I caught a student cheating on videocamera once and her father denied that she was cheating, even though she took her textbook out and started copying answers onto her midterm. He said maybe she didn't understand that it wasn't an open book test.
I am about to go confront the neighbors across the street, whose unsupervised kids shot a BB hole in my car window last night. My husband and kids saw them shooting fireworks (illegal here) and a BB gun right before it happened. I bet you money that they'll deny it and I'll have to get the police involved.
