usually stands for Gosh-darn Independent... or something else that is usually abbreviated with GD -- if you get my meaning.

The term GDI refers normally to one of two types of people: 1) a person who is strongly anti-Greek or 2) a person who is a non-Greek and, although not "anti-Greek," has no personal desire to join a fraternity or sorority.
