Last time I went to Toronto I found it easier to exchange it either just over boarder (there are some exchange knosks) or if you staying anywhere near the airport----I did a lot of my exchanging there. I also didn't get assessed any fees.
It's a lot easier to use Canadian currency because you don't have to figure out the percentages.
