They require a woman to have a letter of recommendation. They do not require her to go out and get it herself. Yes that makes it easier for the sorority if you do, but don't think that because you don't get it yourself you will be ineligible for a bid from a sorority with that rule.

How would a letter of recommendation be written then? Or I guess my real question is are letters written for PNMs without their awareness? (Still kinda confused about the whole process! I apologize.)

They *can* be written without your knowing about it. But I wouldn't count on it. (I was the rec chair for my sorority for the southern part of my state.) I think you will be doing yourself a disservice if you don't secure your recs before you get to campus if at all possible. The more the groups know about you before recruitment even starts, the better.

As for grades, that can depend on the individual GLO and their national and local requirements. I am not actively involved in recruitment at this time, but your grades certainly seem respectable. While grades can be used for early cuts, they are not the only factor in membership selection. Your recs can give a fuller picture of you and what you have to offer a group before the crush of formal recruitment begins.

I hope this helps!

That's my plan I just wasn't aware that some people write letters without the PNM's awareness. lol Thank you so much for all your help! I truly do appreciate it! I guess my one question is in a school where they advertise letters aren't necessary/don't worry about them is there a certain point where all the letters to multiple chapters may come across as "trying to hard?" I'm under the impression they can only help in the long run but I just wanted to be sure!

I'm afraid I can't help you here as I am not at all familiar with your school or even your part of the country. But I am not aware of any situation where letters of recommendtion are a detriment. Hopefully someone who is will chime in!
