Informal recruitment is a crapshoot? I'm not sure I understand what you mean here. You had two opportunities and you didn't use those opportunities to your best advantage.

As someone else mentioned, being an art student is not a negative thing. Unless you fit some crazy, over-the-top stereotype, I don't see why your major would be an issue.

(and seriously?? you did not just say you dropped out because you unexpectedly got a puppy did you???- Carnation’s right just DO. NOT. MENTION that if you decide to go through)…

I agree with andthen- you need to seriously and realistically think about what you can bring to the table in terms of time, commitment and dedication before you decide.

coveredinpaint, I do have to agree here. The excuses you've mentioned don't seem to carry much weight. Perhaps you were afraid of being rejected again, dropped out of your 2nd informal recruitment and are now using some silly excuses as to why you didn't go through with it?

Yes. If you go to formal recruitment and/or colony recruitment, you may or may not receive a bid. If you don't try at all, you definitely won't get a bid. If you give it a go, you can at least have some peace in knowing you gave it a proper shot and not have to wonder "what if". BUT, before you do, make sure you honestly consider if you're ready to put aside all of the excuses and make the commitment that a sorority requires.
