My hope is that the new releases each year will continue to target these girls as they grow up. We are lucky that she seems to be in the right age range.. if she were a few years older there would be many fewer choices. She is currently doing the "5-12" sets, but really, in complexity, those are more 5-8. Older girls would be bored.
Our daughter is 19, and I have nieces who are 4, 7, 9, and 13. When my daughter was young, Lego came out with new Belville sets every year. They were big, elaborate sets, with some accessory smaller sets. I tried to get them for my nieces for birthday and Christmas gifts, but that only worked for a couple years because Lego scaled the line waayyyy back. So, I think they had a "dearth" period, and if they've ramped it back up the past 2-3 years, I'm glad to hear it, because I felt the same way you do about the timing when we got them for my daughter. Maybe GoldieBlox will spur them to action.

Love that letter, Kevin!
